- PayPal is hosting a national Bitcoin sweepstakes with over $1 million in prizes and easy-to-enter contests.

PayPal has announced a five-week-long Bitcoin sweepstakes, with over $1 million in prizes at stake as part of the company’s efforts to bring more people into its cryptocurrency services. Running from November 17 to December 21, 2025, the promotion is aimed at U.S. residents 18 years and above with PayPal accounts.
Weekly Prize Structure Aims to Increase Activity
The program has two paths of entry: qualified crypto transactions made on PayPal (excluding PYUSD purchases) or a traditional mail-in submission to PayPal’s address in Midland, Georgia. Users can earn up to ten entries per week by participating in crypto activity, which creates a built-in cadence to provide incentives for repeated participation.
The sweepstakes has over 1000 winners organised over 5 weekly cycles. PayPal will offer one lucky winner $100,000 Bitcoin prize, five will receive $10,000, and 162 will receive $500. The total value of the prizes exceeds $1 million in Bitcoin, making it one of the biggest crypto-related promotions by PayPal to date.
According to the press release,
“Each Weekly Sweepstakes will be conducted by PromoVeritas, the independent sweepstakes verification service, within 5 working days of the end of each Weekly Sweepstakes Period.”
PayPal Links Expands Its Payment Ecosystem
Additionally, PayPal is expanding PayPal Links, a feature it launched in September 2017, as CNF recently reported. The service offers users the ability to create customised payment links with notes, emojis, and other information. Each link is valid for ten days unless taken up, and senders may issue a reminder or request for cancellation.
The rollout started with the United States, followed by expansion in the United Kingdom, Italy, and others. The feature highlights PayPal’s drive to move towards frictionless peer-to-peer transfers in a time when social and mobile payments have changed financial behaviour.
