By connecting your wallet to the 10KTF platform, holders are able to verify their ownership of supported blue-chip NFT collections. Once complete, users can utilise 10KTF to craft digital items – such as shoes, clothing, accessories and more – and customise their style to be suitable for their NFT.
These personalised digital collectibles are then minted as NFTs that are directly linked to the PFP NFT. This is recorded on the Ethereum blockchain, meaning that everything is traced and verified on-chain.
10KTF is a creation of WENEW Labs, a team co-founded by renowned digital artist Beeple.
The most prominent aspect of 10KTF is its narrative-driven brand. The lore of 10KTF revolves around the character of Wagmi-san, and his adventures in the fantasy city of New Tokyo. The history of 10KTF
10KTF made its debut on September 17, 2021. Their concept of NFT accessories took off, and in early 2022, 10KTF grew its list of supported NFT collections. Today, this list runs to over 20 of the world’s top NFT collections.
In March 2022, 10KTF partnered with Gucci to launch the Gucci Grails collection, which merged high fashion with digital collectibles. Later that year, 10KTF also partnered with Puma, heralding a golden age for the project.
Come November 2022, Yuga Labs – creators of Bored Apes and managers of CryptoPunks – acquired WENEW Labs, and therefore management of 10KTF. This boosted excitement in the integration of 10KTF accessories into Yuga-made NFTs – with particular speculation around the Otherside metaverse.
In 2023, 10KTF focused on improving their general user experience, as well as adding to their list of supported NFT collections.
The year saw the introduction of “blanks” and “tools”, allowing for new crafting possibilities that provided more customisation options. The lore of 10KTF continued, with new missions, updates and story progression that helped 10KTF grow to over 22,000 items, and a total volume in excess of 12,500 ETH.
In October 2024, design studio Possible Productions – known for working with the likes of Netflix, Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber – announced their acquisition of 10KTF from Yuga Labs, forming a new company called Kagami to drive its future development.
Kagami has kept quiet since they acquired 10KTF – though with their experience with world-leading brands, events and personalities, whatever they’re cooking up is certain to have a big impact on the Web3 industry at large.
